I Love My Dog……But How?
Not only do dogs seem to love us back, they actually see us as their family. It turns out that dogs rely on humans more than they do their own kind for affection, protection and everything in between. Dogs are the only species that when frightened, worried, or anxious, run to their humans for comfort, just like children do. They are also the only species that seek eye-contact with their humans.
A lot your dog offers you emotionally and literally. What is that you have to present to you pooch. Diamond-studded collars and couture clothing? Dogs couldn’t care less about such star-dust possessions. The things a dog wants and needs are free and fun to give. Some simple enthusiastic interests can make a huge difference to the way your dog accepts your love. Once he knows you are expressing your love, the bond goes immortal.
Feed him well, but not too well. High-quality, lick-the-bowl tasty food and treats will do your dog’s body and spirit good; just don’t give her more than she needs. Obesity is just as bad for dogs as it is for people. Keep him close and along. Dogs are social creatures, and you are their pack. Whenever you can, take your dog on walks, to outdoor cafes, on errands, to visit Grandma…wherever you go, chances are, they want to go too. Work out with the Companion. Many dogs are exercise-deprived, especially high-energy working dogs like Labradors and Boxers. They need mental stimulation as much as a physical workout. Give an aesthetic intimacy. Like any relationship, it’s all about communication. Knowing some basic training guidelines and how to “speak dog”: what his body language can tell you, and what your body language is saying to him now that’s the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
At last but not the least, he doesn’t like to be treated like a dog but like a family.
